Blackline Vision Data QA Analyst

Blackline Safety is looking for a Data QA Analyst to help build and drive our Blackline Analytics and Blackline Vision platform. We have a world class connected safety system and we are expanding our Data analytics, and Data science platforms to meet our clients’ demands.

Responsibilities

As a QA analyst in the BI team, you will deliver high-quality and bug-free features for our internal and external clients as well as actively participate in evolving our internal QA practices. You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches, reviewing and analyzing system specifications, executing and maintaining test scripts, reviewing results, reporting and documenting technical issues. You will be collecting data from different data sources and perform statistical analysis to identify key trends, patterns and anomalies.

What We're Looking For

Requirements:

  • 3+ years Data QA/UAT testing experience in Data analytics and Reporting production environment
  • Attention to detail and the ability to triage and diagnose complex issues in Reporting.
  • Experience in Data marts, Data warehouse, BI reporting, Analytics, Power BI, DAX studio and Dashboarding
  • Experience in building and troubleshooting SQL queries, views, stored procedures etc.
  • Experience in SQL, DAX, M or other languages and working with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Spotfire and/or Tableau
  • Establish test strategies, design test plans and test cases
  • Experience in Conducting QA/QC of Data marts; data models, facts and dimensions
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
  • Document and communicate all changes for a release in release notes which are published to both the internal team and the client
  • Ensure all QA practices are followed and respected
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to being a team player

Optional:

  • Experience with Amazon AWS, RedShift and other cloud platforms
  • Experience with Agile methodologies as well as familiar with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Travis, github)
  • Knowledge of NetSuite, Redshift and other 3rd party software integrations
  • Knowledge of Satori Reporting or any other turnkey integrative reporting
  • Knowledge of Power platform operations, query, flow and BI and integrations

Who Are You?

You have a demonstrated ability to liaise with cross functional teams to deliver high quality data for analytics; competent in accurately collecting data from different data sources and perform statistical analysis to identify key trends, patterns and anomalies. You have extensive experience with database queries, stored procedures, views and reporting using SQL, postgres, DAXstudio, Power BI and other platforms. You have QA testing experience in Data analytics and Reporting production and backend environment; attention to detail and the ability to triage and diagnose complex issues in reporting. You establish test strategies, design test plans and test cases; Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs. You also document and communicate all changes for a release in release notes which are published to both internal and external clients.
