We are thrilled that Canadian Occupational Safety (COS) magazine readers have voted Blackline Safety as the preferred technology for Lone Worker Monitoring! We are especially honored to be selected as the leader in this category, as ensuring lone workers have the confidence to get their jobs done safely so they can return home at the end of the day is part of our core mission as a company.

Lone Worker Distress
According to a study conducted by EHS Today there are over 53 million lone workers in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Almost one in five (19%) lone worker professionals report having an accident and struggling to get help, while almost half (44%) stated they felt unsafe while at work. The study further found that less than one-third (32%) of respondents confirmed they were able to track the location of a lone worker out of cell phone range.

Always There to Help
Blackline Safety’s Lone Worker solutions ensure that no call for help ever goes unanswered and no incident goes undetected. Whether you are using Blackline’s G7 Lone Worker Monitor or have lone worker monitoring as part of your G7 gas detector, our TMA Five Diamond certified Safety Operations Center (SOC) ensures a swift emergency response, saving lives when seconds can make all the difference.

“If we didn’t have the Blackline device and the AED, I don’t think [our employee] would be alive today. This goes to show the importance of having both lone worker devices and AEDs in place,” said a Human Resources Manager for Marmon/Keystone.

Real-Life Lone Worker Incidents

Over the last few years, we have heard stories from our customers about how our lone worker technology has saved them. From a worker who suffered cardiac arrest while on the job to a worker knocked unconscious by highly toxic H2S to a worker caught in a tornado, Blackline’s devices have layers of communication to help ensure lone workers are protected, including:

  • Fall detection
  • No motion alerts
  • Missed check-in notifications
  • SOS latch
  • Two-way communications

And with either cellular or satellite connectivity, their safety is always being monitored, no matter how isolated they might be. Lone workers, including those at a remote organic farming operation in Italy, have reported feeling more confident on the job thanks to their Blackline device.
